Cryptocurrency Dogecoin is named after the Internet meme – Shiba Inu dog Doge.
Musk posted several tweets about Dogecoin at once. The brightest among them are the Lion King meme and the phrase: “Dogecoin is the people’s crypt.”
On the same morning, Dogecoin rose by about 50% to $0.053.
The next push for dogecoin came from Musk again. He wrote that he purchased the cryptocurrency for his 9-month-old son X Æ A-Xii. The tweet was complemented by a touching video with the baby. Musk says his son will be a “toddler hodler”. Toddler is a kid, and hodler in crypto-currency slang is an investor who holds his cryptocurrency despite price fluctuations. Dogecoin, which fell to $0.069 the day before, responded to Musk’s publications with a 16% increase. That is again to approximately $0.08.
Musk emphasized that his tweets about dogecoin are just jokes. However, recently at the Clubhouse, he remarked: “Fate loves irony. The most interesting and ironic outcome will be the transformation of Dogecoin into the currency of the Earth in the future.”
